Resource / Checklist
Prepare for a client
security review.
A short checklist to move from a blank questionnaire to an accurate, reviewable response.
Before you answer
Start with the deadline
and the scope.
Read the request as a buyer
Identify the required format, response date, systems in scope, and whether the customer expects evidence or an attestation.
Assign an owner for every answer
Route questions to the people who know how the control works. Record when an answer is based on a planned improvement rather than an existing control.
Gather evidence before writing
Collect the current policy, configuration, review record, or contract that supports each material statement.
Mark gaps clearly
Use plain language for what is missing, the risk it creates, and the next action. Avoid promising a control that is not implemented.
Approve the final response
Have the business owner review scope, accuracy, commitments, and any customer-specific language before submission.
